We offer high-dose Vitamin C IV therapy at our Syracuse and Skaneateles offices as supportive care for people going through cancer treatment, recovering from treatment, or living in remission.
Captivate Wellness offers medically supervised High-Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy at our Syracuse/DeWitt and Skaneateles offices. This supportive therapy is available to people currently undergoing cancer treatment, recovering from treatment, or living in remission or survivorship.
High-Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy is designed to complement the care provided by your established oncology team. It does not treat or cure cancer and should never replace or delay conventional cancer care. Every treatment plan begins with a required provider consultation.
Consultation required. High-Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy starts at $250 per infusion.
High-Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy delivers pharmaceutical-grade Vitamin C directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous infusion. Unlike oral supplements, IV Vitamin C can be administered in doses measured in grams and can produce significantly higher blood concentrations.
High-Dose Vitamin C is being studied in integrative and supportive oncology settings for its potential role in supporting quality of life, energy, recovery and treatment tolerance. Research is ongoing, and it has not been approved by the FDA as a treatment for cancer.
At Captivate Wellness, every infusion is administered under medical supervision. Before beginning therapy, you will meet with a provider to review your medical history, current treatment, medications, laboratory results and recommendations from your oncology team.
The body limits how much Vitamin C can be absorbed when it is taken orally. As oral doses increase, absorption decreases and the kidneys remove much of the excess Vitamin C.
An IV infusion bypasses the digestive system and delivers Vitamin C directly into the bloodstream. According to research summarized by the National Cancer Institute, intravenous Vitamin C can produce substantially higher blood concentrations than oral Vitamin C. For this reason, High-Dose IV Vitamin C is studied separately from oral Vitamin C supplements.
High-Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy is part of Captivate Wellness’s integrative oncology support services in Syracuse, DeWitt, Skaneateles and the surrounding Central New York region.
This therapy may be considered by people who are:
Your oncologist remains responsible for directing your cancer treatment. Captivate Wellness provides supportive care under the supervision of our medical team, including a board-certified physician medical director, nurse practitioners and registered nurses.
We do not diagnose, treat or cure cancer, and we will never recommend replacing or delaying treatment prescribed by your oncologist. When appropriate, we plan infusions around your existing oncology treatment schedule.
Research on high-dose IV Vitamin C in cancer care is active and ongoing. The main areas being studied are:
How Vitamin C behaves at the high concentrations an infusion can reach, including around cancer cells.
Vitamin C’s role in collagen production and tissue repair during treatment.
Its role in immune function during and after cancer treatment.
Whether it helps with cancer-related fatigue.
Whether it helps patients tolerate treatment and recover between cycles.
Reported improvements in treatment-related symptoms such as nausea, loss of appetite, and pain.
High-dose Vitamin C is not a cancer treatment, and we don’t offer it as one. We offer it as supportive care, and we’re upfront about what the research shows so far.
Treatment pricing is based on the prescribed dose and the approximate amount of time required to administer the infusion.
Any laboratory testing fees are billed separately. Your provider will determine the appropriate dose, frequency and duration of treatment according to your medical history and clinical protocol.
IV therapy for oncology patients isn’t the same for everyone. Whether it’s right for you depends on your diagnosis, current treatment, medications, kidney function, labs, and what your oncology team advises. That’s why we start with a consultation instead of a booking.
High-dose Vitamin C is not recommended if you have:
High-Dose Vitamin C can also cause falsely elevated readings on certain fingerstick glucose meters for several hours after an infusion. Tell your provider if you monitor your blood sugar.
Some cancer medications may interact with High-Dose Vitamin C, so infusions may need to be scheduled around chemotherapy, radiation or other treatments. We ask that your oncology team be informed of your plan. If your oncologist advises against receiving High-Dose Vitamin C, Captivate Wellness will respect that recommendation.
If High-Dose Vitamin C is not appropriate for you, your provider may discuss other supportive options, including lower-dose infusions from our IV Wellness menu.
Every patient starts with a consultation with a Captivate provider. We review your medical history, diagnosis and current treatment, medications and supplements, goals, and any recommendations from your oncology team. We’ll tell you honestly whether high-dose Vitamin C makes sense for you.
Certain laboratory testing or screening may be required before higher-dose Vitamin C therapy, including G6PD screening when clinically appropriate. We can often use results your oncology team already has on file.
Your plan is based on your medical history, current cancer treatment, medications, goals, and provider recommendations. It sets your starting dose, how often you’ll come in, and how infusions are timed around your oncology appointments.
Vitamin C infusions in Syracuse and Skaneateles take place in a private treatment chair with a Captivate nurse monitoring you the whole time. Most take about one to two hours depending on dose, and there’s no downtime afterward.

High-dose Vitamin C IV therapy is a slow intravenous infusion of pharmaceutical-grade Vitamin C at doses measured in grams. It’s used in integrative and supportive oncology settings. Captivate offers it as supportive care alongside conventional oncology treatment, after a consultation and any screening your provider recommends.
Oral Vitamin C is limited by absorption and kidney clearance, so blood levels plateau no matter how much you take. An IV infusion bypasses those limits and reaches concentrations that capsules, powders, and liposomal products can’t.
Often, yes. It depends on your regimen, your medications, your labs, and your oncology team’s guidance. Some cancer medications may interact with high-dose Vitamin C, so your Captivate provider schedules infusions to fit safely around your treatment days.
No. High-dose Vitamin C is not a substitute for chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, immunotherapy, hormone therapy, or any care your oncologist prescribes, and the FDA has not approved it as a treatment for cancer. Captivate offers it as supportive care that complements your oncology treatment.
We ask that your oncology team knows about your plan, and we encourage you to talk it over with your oncologist first. If your oncologist advises against it, we’ll respect that.
Certain laboratory testing or screening may be required before higher-dose therapy, including G6PD screening when clinically appropriate, because people with G6PD deficiency can have a serious reaction to high doses of Vitamin C. Your provider may also review your kidney function and recent bloodwork.
Most high-dose Vitamin C infusions at Captivate take about one to two hours, depending on dose. Eat a meal and drink water beforehand. There’s no downtime afterward.
Your individualized plan sets the schedule. In research settings, high-dose Vitamin C is typically given one to three times per week for a set course. Your provider adjusts the cadence to your goals, your treatment calendar, and how you respond.
High-Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy at Captivate starts at $250 per infusion, with higher doses priced by dose. A consultation is required first, lab testing is billed separately, IV therapy is generally not covered by insurance, and payment plans are available.
