Botox affects the muscles and change the way their movement (or lack of movement) work. It is a powerful treatment used to prevent and treat wrinkles and muscle tension. Botox can also help with excessive sweating, and teeth grinding.
The Botox treatment is a neuromodulator injection. It is called Botox because of its active ingredient, botulinum toxin type A, produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.
Botox affects the muscles and changes the way their movement (or lack of movement) work. It is a powerful treatment and also a prevention for wrinkles and muscle tension. Additionally, Botox can also help with excessive salivation, excessive sweating, and muscle spasms of the eyelids, neck, or limbs.
Botox has anti-aging, muscle strain, and preventative medicine benefits.
One of the most important benefits of Botox is a self-esteem boost. Since it helps people get rid of undesired wrinkles, expression marks and muscle spasms, as well as excessive sweating, it makes their skin look and feel younger and healthier. This makes people all over the world feel their best and most confident selves!
As it is already known, Botox can be applied in many areas of the face. But it can also be applied in other areas of the body where wrinkles and excessive sweating can happen. Facial areas where Botox can be applied: the lines between the eyebrows, underneath the eyebrows (botox brow lift), the jaw (masseter botox), forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), lip line and around the lips.Other body areas where Botox can be applied: underarm, neck, and hands.
It takes 1-2 weeks for Botox to show visible results and they can last 3-5 months.
Botox, Xeomin and Dysport carry botulinum toxin, but have slight differences that make each treatment unique and more or less suitable for each person.
– Botox works well for lip lines, crow’s feet, masseter, and other fine wrinkles. It has a high concentration and is slow-moving, perfect for small areas.
– Dysport works better for larger surface areas like the forehead, since it’s fast-acting and spreads more evenly.
– Xeomin is very similar to Botox, but it has a different type of botulinum toxin with no accessory protein, which helps avoid body resistance to the treatment.
If you feel mild discomfort around the area where Botox was just applied and/or some headache past the procedure, don’t worry! It is completely normal and shouldn’t last more than a couple of days.
Our injectables specialist professional will perform the Botox injection and make sure it runs as smoothly as possible. The Botox treatment can take about 10-20 minutes and there is no need for anesthesia. However, our professional can make use of a topical anesthetic or a cold pack to reduce any possible discomfort.
Botox has low (yet still possible) risk to enter the bloodstream. While it is, usually, a safe procedure, you should always talk to your doctor before going under any sort of treatment when pregnant or nursing.
